Lett. 31, 766–769 (1973)Interaction Barrier in Charged-Particle Nuclear ReactionsReceived 27 December 1972; revised 7 May 1973; published in the issue dated 17 September 1973 Simple expressions are obtained for the total reaction cross section in terms of the interaction barrier for the s wave. These expressions allow the interaction barrier to be determined experimentally. Analysis of experimental data for heavy ions on 238U shows that the effective radius parameter decreases as projectile charges increase. © 1973 The American Physical Society URL:
