Lett. 39, 1628–1631 (1977)Voltage Measurements within the Nonequilibrium Region near Phase-Slip CentersReceived 14 October 1977; published in the issue dated 19 December 1977 We have used complementary sets of normal and superconducting probes to study the nonequilibrium region near phase-slip centers in narrow superconducting strips. An exponentially decaying branch imbalance potential, μQ, is observed and the decay length, the quasiparticle diffusion length, is measured directly and compared to the phase-slip resistance. © 1977 The American Physical Society URL:
