Lett. 43, 103–107 (1979)Weak-Interaction Singlet and Strong CP InvarianceReceived 16 February 1979; published in the issue dated 9 July 1979 Strong CP invariance is automatically preserved by a spontaneously broken chiral U(1)4 symmetry. A weak-interaction singlet heavy quark Q, a new scalar meson σ0, and a very light axion are predicted. Phenomenological implications are also included. © 1979 The American Physical Society URL:
