Effect of Interface Mobility on Heat Transfer from Solid 4He to 3He Quasiparticles in 3He-4He Mixtures

We propose a novel mechanism for Kapitza conductance between phonons in solid 4He and 3He quasiparticles in dilute 3He-4He liquid mixtures. This conductance is large only when the interface between the liquid and solid is rough. We have measured this conductance using a dynamical method, and have obtained results in agreement with the theory.
