Lett. 60, 1302–1305 (1988)Electron-beam radiation in a strongly turbulent plasmaReceived 21 September 1987; published in the issue dated 28 March 1988 A solution for the radiation power and frequency spectrum of a relativistic electron beam passing through a strongly turbulent plasma is presented. Regions of intense, localized electrostatic fields in the plasma are characterized as dipolar ‘‘solitons.’’ A new regime of the beam-plasma interaction is identified with the range of beam parameters for which radiation from the beam dominates over the plasma radiation. © 1988 The American Physical Society URL:
