Phys. Rev. Lett. 70, 666–669 (1993)Anomalous behavior of the flux line lattice of vibrating high-Tc superconductors at 30 K in magnetic fields parallel to the CuO2 planesReceived 11 March 1992; published in the issue dated 1 February 1993 We have measured the energy dissipation and pinning of the flux line lattice (FLL) of vibrating high-Tc superconducting crystals as a function of temperature, magnetic field, and angle θ between field and CuO2 planes. For Bi2Sr2CaCu2O8 and oxygen-deficient (Y0.94Gd0.06)Ba2Cu3O6.83 superconductors and for θ∼0° we observed an anomalous depinning of the FLL at ∼30 K. This anomaly cannot be explained by a thermally activated depinning mechanism and suggests the existence of a phase transition of the FLL. © 1993 The American Physical Society URL:
