Phys. Rev. Lett. 71, 4063–4066 (1993)Nonlinear magnetic susceptibility in a Kramers-ion doped glassReceived 26 July 1993; published in the issue dated 13 December 1993 The imaginary part of the magnetic susceptibility of an insulating glass doped with dysprosium ions (Kramers ions), measured at high frequency (680 MHz) and low temperature (14 mK), is strongly dependent on the amplitude of the electromagnetic field. This nonlinear effect, which is not observed in a similar glass doped with holmium ions (non-Kramers ions), is attributed to magnetic tunneling states. © 1993 The American Physical Society URL:
