Phys. Rev. Lett. 76, 3136–3139 (1996)Evidence for the Importance of Interactions between Active Defects in GlassesReceived 12 December 1995; published in the issue dated 22 April 1996 We report new evidence obtained between 500μK and 150mK for the importance of interactions between tunneling two level systems in structural glasses. After the application of a large dc electric field we observed logarithmic relaxations in ε′(ω) and ε′′(ω) for up to 104s. The frequency dependence of the relaxation in ε′(ω) observed at higher temperatures vanishes for temperatures well below the minimum of ε′(ω,T) and we find ε′′(ω)∝T below the high temperature plateau, both qualitatively in agreement with models involving interactions. © 1996 The American Physical Society URL:
