Lett. 78, 1624–1627 (1997)Backreaction Problem for Cosmological PerturbationsReceived 10 September 1996; published in the issue dated 3 March 1997 We derive the effective energy-momentum tensor for cosmological perturbations and prove its gauge invariance. The result is applied to study the influence of perturbations on the behavior of the Friedmann background in inflationary universe scenarios.
