Lett. 80, 2285–2288 (1998)Symmetries of Large Nc Matrix Models for Closed StringsReceived 12 November 1997; published in the issue dated 16 March 1998 We obtain the symmetry algebra of multimatrix models in the planar large Nc limit. We use this algebra to associate these matrix models with quantum spin chains.
