Phys. Rev. Lett. 80, 393–396 (1998)Luminescence from Spherically and Aspherically Collapsing Laser Induced BubblesReceived 15 August 1997; published in the issue dated 12 January 1998 Single cavitation bubble luminescence is investigated. The cavitation bubbles are produced by focused laser light and collapse under the action of the ambient pressure. Both spherical and aspherical collapse is studied. Luminescence is observed in both cases, but only up to a mildly aspherical collapse. © 1998 The American Physical Society URL:
