Study of the χc0(13P0) State of Charmonium Formed in p̅ p Annihilations

The resonance parameters of χc0, the 31P0 resonance of charmonium, have been measured at the Fermilab Antiproton Accumulator by means of the reaction p̅ pχc0γJ/ψγ(e+e-). The results are M(χc0) = 3417.4-1.9+1.8±0.2MeV/c2, Γ(χc0) = 16.6-3.7+5.2±0.1MeV, and Γ(χc0p̅ pB(χc0J/ψγB(J/ψe+e-) = 2.89-0.53+0.67±0.14eV. Using known branching ratios we also obtain Γ(χc0p̅ p) = 8.0-1.5-1.9+1.9+3.5keV. These results are discussed in relation to the other χcJ states and to theoretical predictions.
