Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 2237–2240 (2001)Moments of the Neutron Charge Form Factor and the N→Δ Quadrupole TransitionReceived 28 March 2000; revised 7 November 2000; published in the issue dated 12 March 2001 Recent data allow a new parametrization of the neutron charge form factor GEn. A parameter-free quark-model relation between GEn and the N→Δ quadrupole form factor GC2N→Δ is used to predict GC2N→Δ from GEn data. In particular, 〈rn2〉 is related to N→Δ quadrupole moment QN→Δ, while 〈rn4〉 connects to the N→Δ quadrupole transition radius 〈rN→Δ2〉. From the latter we derive an experimental value for the charge radius of the light constituent quarks rγq = 0.8fm. Finally, the C2/M1 ratio in pion electroproduction is predicted from the elastic neutron form factor data. © 2001 The American Physical Society URL:
