PRL Editorial: Appointment of Reinhardt Schuhmann as New PRL Managing Editor (December 31, 2001)

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Reinhardt Schuhmann as Managing Editor of Physical Review Letters, succeeding Gene Wells, whose retirement was announced in an earlier Editorial. Reiny brings to this new assignment twenty years of experience as a physicist and with APS publications. His passionate commitment to physics and to the excellence of our journals, and his keen understanding of the editorial process, will serve him and the scientific community well in this important position. We look forward to his leadership of the PRL editorial staff in dealing with the many challenges of the present and future.
